First Image of Lily Collins as Snow White Unveiled

A few months ago it was announced that Phil Collins’ daughter, Lily, would be portraying the white skinned, red lipped, black haired beauty in the formally titled: The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, and now we gain a first glimpse from an official image.

It seems Lily is the fairest of them all, if this photo has anything to go by. With her dramatic dress oozing vibrant colours through the intricate floral pattern, it already contrasts that of the animated 1937s Disney Princess. It suggests that the movie will be a visionary of dramatic art, although hopefully behind the beauty shines an entrancing tale.

The poster conceives the idea that director, Tarsem Singh’s will be sticking to his flamboyant eccentrics we have seen in previous movies: The Cell and The Fall. It comes to no surprise that the fantasy adventure is set to be brutally darker than the previous children’s fairytale, with the alternation showing Snow White and the seven dwarfs trying to reclaim their kingdom which was devastatingly destroyed.

The release of this new image continues the rivalry between the second anticipated interpretation of the infamous story, Snow White and the Huntsmen, starring Kristen Stewart as the leading lady, which has gained intense publicity. The two films will battle it out next year, with Lily’s version racing out ahead in March, followed by Kristen’s in June.

The yet untitled adaptation will portray Snow White as a fragile and innocent young adult, much like the angel singing bird charmer we know too well, whilst Kristen’s character will be introduced as a rough-edged horse-rider.

As well as stiff competition from the Twilight starlet, Lily will also have to compete against Julia Roberts, portraying her evil stepmother, to win the Prince’s hand. Roberts will be dropping her usual heroine image to play the wicked Queen, who act’s deadly sweet, but is a bitter witch inside.

Lily has already appeared in The Blind Side, Priest and soon will be acting alongside Taylor Lautner in Abduction. But, this will be her first time stepping out into the limelight and hopefully her performance is as stunning as her elegant appearance.
